Walden University Celebrates Nurses Week

SKILLED. COMPASSIONATE. TIRELESS.
Thank you, nurses, for making a difference every day!

In celebration of National Nurses Week, Walden University School of Nursing is proud to honor nurses for the differences they make in the lives of patients, the success of organizations, and the health of our communities. So many of us have been touched by you - our Walden nursing students, faculty, and alumni. Your willingness to embrace Walden's mission to "effect positive social change" has impacted numerous lives around you. Walden salutes you, our nurses - compassionate and tireless in delivering exceptional health care every day while still selflessly fulfilling multiple roles as mothers, fathers, care-takers, community organizers and volunteers.

Cynthia J. Hickman R.N., who is earning her M.S degree in Nursing at Walden University, is a perfect example. The recipient of a $50,000 award for her volunteer efforts after Hurricane Katrina, Cynthia used the money to establish three scholarship programs for new nursing students. Cynthia is earning her degree at Walden so she can continue to be an inspirational force in recruiting and teaching nurses.

We invite you to share with us how being a nurse has made a difference in your life and in the lives of others. You can share your story by completing this online survey www.WaldenU.edu/nurseweeksurvey by Tuesday May 13, 2008. We will share selected survey results with our staff, students, and prospective students by posting them on www.WaldenU.edu/honornurses. beginning May 13, 2008.

Thank you for helping Walden University celebrate nurses every day!
