Walden University Teacher Endorsement Programs
For licensed teachers who want to increase their knowledge base and improve their teaching skills, Walden University’s Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership now offers endorsement programs in special education. Developed as an outgrowth of Walden’s commitment to lifelong learning opportunities for educators, our endorsement programs provide teachers with the qualifications necessary to expand their career options while developing their expertise.
Endorsement Programs in Special Education

Now you can also prepare to make a difference in the lives of those children with special needs with Walden’s state-approved* Special Education Endorsement Programs. Focusing on either emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) or learning disabilities (LD), and offering an option to earn an M.S. in Education (M.S.Ed.) with a specialization in Special Education, our online programs enable you to enhance your skills and increase your professional opportunities by fulfilling the requirements needed to teach K–12 students with special needs.
Walden’s practical, accelerated programs combine the flexibility of online learning with hands-on field experiences. You’ll also learn from national educational experts who share best teaching practices via DVD. Whether your goal is to transition into a special education classroom or to bring these skills to your current teaching area, our programs can enable you to raise the achievement levels of your students.

*Not applicable in all states. Walden University’s endorsement programs are approved by the Minnesota Board of Teaching for endorsement or add-on licensure in Minnesota. Candidates for this program must already hold a valid P-12 teaching license. Note that in some states endorsements or add-on licensure can be awarded by passing a state-specified test, rather than completion of a course-based program. Walden’s advisors can provide individuals with guidelines and other information about endorsements. It remains the individual’s responsibility to understand and comply with the out-of-state endorsement requirements for the state in which he or she seeks to be endorsed.
