About Us
Mr. Kaplan graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a B.A. in government. He later translated this academic experience into practice through a distinguished career in public policy and government, capped by serving for three years as special assistant to the president for economic policy and chief of staff of the National Economic Council in the Clinton White House. During his public sector career, Mr. Kaplan also held posts at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and on Capitol Hill, focusing on domestic and economic policy issues.
Mr. Kaplan received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law where he served as an editor of the Boston University Law Review. He later practiced law as an associate at Covington & Burling, a leading international law firm based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Kaplan serves on the board of directors of several organizations, notably Advocates for Children and Youth, a nonprofit organization that works for the needs of Maryland’s children and families in the community, the media and the public policy arena. He resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with his wife, Jill Wilkins, a senior officer at the World Bank, and two children.
