Accreditation
A Mark of Quality
Accreditation is a voluntary process whereby an independent body objectively judges an institution’s academic programs, financial condition, governance and administration, student academic achievement, and organizational effectiveness, among other factors.
Walden University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association, www.ncahlc.org.
The Higher Learning Commission is one of six regional accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. When evaluating credentials, employers and universities often look for applicants who earned their degrees from accredited universities.
Accreditation also can apply to specific degree programs. Walden’s M.S. degree program in Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Walden is one of the only schools that offers a CACREP-accredited M.S. degree in Mental Health Counseling online.
