Program Highlights
Your Master of Public Health program culminates with a field practicum and written capstone. You can design a practicum around the delivery of a public health program or as a researcher—assessing the need in a community or evaluating the effectiveness of a program. You can carry out your practicum experiences at a city, county, state, or federal public health agency.
This experience is designed to provide you with the opportunity to
- Synthesize knowledge
- Develop proficiency in professional practice in the foundational areas, as identified by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)
- Apply knowledge to the solution of public health problems
- Develop a respect for and commitment to continued professional knowledge
- Develop health programs and interventions that include design, implementation, and evaluation components
