Leadership and Management – RN Track
As a nurse, you shape the future of patient care every day. Through our Leadership and Management specialization, gain the knowledge and confidence you’ll need to advance your career and become a leader in the field of nursing.
Applicants who have a diploma, A.D.N., or bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing and are licensed registered nurses may be accepted in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), provided they fulfill the general education requirements. Once applicants meet these requirements, they are admitted to Walden and begin taking the foundational courses. Students then progress on to the core curriculum, the specialization courses, and finally, the capstone courses.
Completion Requirements
- 65 semester credit hours
- Foundational courses (25 sem. cr.)
- Core courses (18 sem. cr.)
- Specialization courses (16 sem. cr.)
- Capstone courses (6 sem. cr.)
- Program of Study and Professional Development Plan

General Education Requirements
Courses are available at Walden if you have not completed the minimum undergraduate credits of general education courses required for admission to the master’s program. If you choose to complete general education courses at Walden, you can transition directly into the RN Track of the MSN program after completion of the general education requirements.
