Practicum

As a student in Walden’s special education endorsement program, you will participate in a full-time, supervised six-week classroom teaching experience. This practicum provides you with opportunities to gradually assume responsibility for total classroom management, curriculum development, and daily instruction.

You will work with a cooperating teacher who holds current credentials in the licensure area that you are pursuing to coordinate this practicum experience. A Walden faculty supervisor will observe and evaluate you during your practicum. You will complete a total of six weeks of supervised teaching in a grade-level setting that is different from your current license level and that meets Minnesota criteria for licensure.
