Learning Outcomes

In Walden’s B.S. in Instructional Design and Technology program, students are

  1. Given appropriate scenarios, develop instructional materials and experiences by applying current “best practices” to create learning systems using various media.
  2. Given an appropriate instructional or learning situation, evaluate the adequacy of the package by applying theories, principles, and research to problem analysis, criterion-referenced measurement, formative and summative evaluation, and long-range planning.
  3. Given appropriate situations, plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise instructional technology by applying theories, principles, and research to all aspects of the project and management process.
  4. Given appropriate situations, use processes and resources for learning by applying theories, principles, and research to media utilization, diffusion, implementations, and policy-making.
  5. Given appropriate learning situations, design conditions for learning by applying principles of instructional systems design and learning theory, message design, instructional strategies, and learner characteristics.
